Did you know that 6.4% of students who are currently pursuing a bachelor's degree will not finish their school year? In private universities, this figure rises to 9.4%, which represents 240,103 students who dropped out of school this year alone. This alarming dropout rate is aggravated if we consider that, in Mexico, only 24 out of every 100 students who enter primary school manage to go to university.

In our country, the reasons behind this dropout rate are diverse, but almost always related to the family economy: from bankruptcy to the loss of a loved one, including the lack of resources to cover transportation, food, materials or tools. Family separation, illness and contexts of violence also force many people to abandon their university dreams, prioritizing basic needs over professional training in challenging economic contexts.

However, it is proven that higher education transforms lives. Accessing university opens doors to a better quality of life: better health, economic stability, decent employment and the personal satisfaction that comes from being an active part of the development of society. Furthermore, people who complete a university degree have critical thinking, leadership skills and a deep commitment to their community.
