Generations in Victoria B.C. It begins operating in 2012 with the name of "Sendas de Victoria". The doors of the welfare house for people with addiction problems are opened at the initiative of Pastor Óscar Antonio Rodríguez Pineda. Providing food, shelter and clothing to those who came to ask for help, in addition to sharing general issues about values and character formation.
On March 5, 2013, it was constituted as a Civil Association, so it began the transformation of a care home into a residential establishment specialized in the treatment of addictions.
Generations in Victoria B.C. It is established with the aim of addressing the problem of addictions in a vulnerable population, with limited resources or in street conditions; for this reason, they do not have access to treatments whose costs cannot be covered by the user or his family; and, at the same time, to be a worthy alternative for the user with these characteristics, the spiritual growth and dignity of the user being the basis of our program.
In Generations in Victoria a.c. 50 men a year are treated, with a lasting 60% sobriety rate.
We also have the Prevention Coordination, through which actions are carried out aimed at preventing addictions and risk behaviors in minors from 7 to 14 years old, who reside in vulnerable colonies. These interventions consist of offering children various workshops such as: "Life skills", music, art, sport, English and educational reinforcement.
Through these actions we serve 40 children a year, achieving that 50% return to public school and remain, 90% of them have not consumed addictive substances, being the age of greatest risk for the first consumption among 9 and the 12 years in our country according to the ENCODAT statistics 2016-2017.
Generations in Victoria hopes to keep growing, always walking on its philosophy of dignified care for the person with addiction problems.
