Who we are

We are a multidisciplinary team staffed by five women, two of them Rarámuri. We work for the self-determination of the indigenous peoples of the Sierra Tarahumara and the defense of their territories and rights from an intersectional perspective that includes the fight against racism and gender violence, and the active and equitable inclusion of women and youth in the indigenous autonomous processes.
We denounce racism and colonialism as the deep roots of the violence against the indigenous peoples of Mexico, which manifests itself through the dispossession of their lands and resources, the attack on and disregard of their customary law and governance structures, widespread impoverishment, and the daily marginalization and contempt.
Our methodologies are based on popular education and collaboration. We have four areas of work: free legal defense, research-action, shared learning, and women body-territory.
